Compare Devices
Check whether one device, several devices, or everything in the home has the same symptom.
Safe Checks With Useful Meaning
Use these checks to gather evidence without changing many settings at once. Stop if equipment is hot, damaged, wet, sparking, smells unusual, has a swollen battery, or requires electrical or structural work. Contact the appropriate emergency, provider, manufacturer, or qualified service instead.

Notice whether the problem changes near the router, in one room, on one floor, or outdoors.
Determine whether all websites and applications fail or only one provider or streaming service.
Check another device in the same room and the same device in another room. If one device fails while others work, focus on that device. If all devices fail everywhere, check the internet gateway and provider status. If performance changes by location, signal and interference are likely involved.
Record the time, room, device, application, and signal indicator. That evidence is more useful than repeatedly changing network names or resetting equipment.
If there is no sign of physical danger and your provider has no outage, restart the modem or gateway and router using the manufacturer or provider instructions. A restart removes power briefly; a factory reset erases configuration and should not be used as a casual troubleshooting step.
Allow equipment to finish starting before testing. Compare the same device and task again, and record whether the symptom changed.
Contact the provider when the gateway reports no upstream service, every device fails on both wired and wireless connections, or a confirmed outage exists. Contact Mitec when Wi-Fi coverage, router or mesh configuration, device connection, interference, separated access, or network organization needs assessment.
Provide the observations above. Do not email Wi-Fi passwords, provider account passwords, or device credentials.
Clear Process
Compare another device, another room, and another application before changing settings.
Review provider outage information and normal gateway and router indicators.
Restart only undamaged equipment using documented instructions; do not factory reset.
Repeat the same task and share device, room, time, provider, signal, and result.
Useful Answers
Usually not. A reset button may erase network names, passwords, provider settings, and mesh configuration. Use a normal restart unless the provider or technician specifically directs a factory reset.
No. It measures one device, location, server, connection, and moment. Coverage, latency, interference, application behavior, and other rooms may still have problems.
Send the provider, equipment model, affected devices, rooms, applications, time pattern, status indicators, safe steps attempted, and observed result. Never send passwords or recovery keys.
Next Step
Include devices, rooms, applications, provider, router or mesh model, timing, and what changed after a safe restart.
